I do tithe and it all goes to those most in need, not things that would give me immediate gratification. Think starving children. I am an average person with faults I am sure but that is the bare minimum I must do to live with myself.

The garbagemen always change so nothing, plus they throw our trash and recycling bins all over the place. The mailman get a box of treats and a card. Nicest guy in the world. Paper guy gets $50 tipped through the WaPo site. I think that’s too high but DH was a paperboy while growing up from 4th-8th grade so he has a soft spot for them even though none of them are kids anymore.

Haha I love the idea of waiting for the garbage truck to come and then running out of your house into the cold with an envelope of cash, chasing down the truck, waving the envelope around.

I feel like the UPS and Amazon prime guys should get tipped but it’s often different people.

You think your garbagemen get pensions and health benefits? Those are almost certainly private contractors that are getting paid the bare minimum...
