Any clue if we can see the breakdown of the applicants from each school? I'm guessing McLean, Chantilly, Langley, etc. by far have the most applicants. I'd be surprised if any of the schools lower on the list even had many kids interested in going. But that is just a guess on my part and I'd like to see the data.

Wow. McLean and Chantilly (who I think are currently the most overcrowded HS in FCPS without a plan in place) really needs some help now - Langley might be able to absorb.
strange how the top and bottom list correspond so well to school affluence. it's almost like TJ's detractors hadve a point
Or the rigor of the HS.

From a next steps document:
Please do analysis of the ramifications to our base high schools given a new TJ admissions process. This data driven research will include both an analysis of increased student enrollment at the high schools and the need for additional courses in advanced math, science, and computer programming such as: differential equations, probability theory, quantum physics, machine learning, post AP courses, etc.
Staff will need to do an analysis of course offerings at TJHSST and determine the best way to provide opportunity and access more broadly. This could be through a combination of school based optional course offerings, inclusion in the Online Campus, or Dual Enrollment agreements with university partners.
DP. So in other words, FCPS staff provided only a brief response relating to course offerings, and ignored the Board members (think it was Tholen and Pekarsky) with respect to the request for information about the anticipated impact on enrollments.
I don't know how some Board members, in particular, could feel comfortable approving a new approach to TJ admissions without this information.
