it is ignorant to cherry pick data and intentionally provide no context.

Which is absolutely insane, right? In Maryland, we view ourselves as mask compliant and Florida as COVID deniers. It is possible that they are hiding data, but the data we have puts Maryland in the same realm of COVID spread as Florida.
Given the weather that allows people to interact outside, FL could be doing so much better than MD. it’s really unfortunate that the warm states aren’t taking more advantage of their weather.

Because the numbers Florida is releasing are incorrect. This has been proven repeatedly. See the the Rebekah Jones thread in politics.

OP is correct.
I just looked at the chart and even in the weeks before Thanksgiving, there were many days that they had 10,000+, 9,000+ and 8,000+.
That vm could be attributed to Halloween, but even before Halloween their numbers were really high in the 7,000 - 9,000 range.
I just think there are a lot of very ignorant people who live there, who think the rules don't apply to them or that they're immune.
I live in Florida - the governor is encouraging people to behave as if there is no virus, and he has since day one. To the extent anyone takes cues from those in charge, DeSantis has a lot of blood on his hands.
Luckily in my city we have leadership that is at least trying to keep us alive. But that is not the case in a lot of the rest of the state. It's really baffling, and awful.
