Mitch won't sign on to the "problem solvers" solution if it includes the liability protections, full stop.

Why are the Democrats getting swatted when they did something and the Republicans have done nothing?

Everyone needs to get behind the Problem Solvers plan and just pass it.

I feel so sorry for you. You're being boiled slowly like a frog in a pot of watef on the stove and you don't even recognize it.

There's only three ways to fund the bill. Have the govt create the money out of thin air which makrs every dollar worth less and less,
borrow the money from China which makes us more and more subservient to them in the future, or tax more and more.

Taxes aren't rolling in because there is almost no economic activity due to shutdowns that state governors have mandated.

The big box stores like Costco, Target and chain restaurants are laughing at their mom and pop competition being destroyed. When they're all closed, you'll be at the big guy's mercy. But democrats are all for the little guy LOLOL.

Do you ever wonder why goods and services are getting more expensive and you clamor for a "living wage"? The answer isn't that things are getting more expensive. It's that your money is getting to be worth less and less.

Buuuuuut, don't worry. Joe, Chuck and Nancy will save you! Their understanding of what's going on is perfect. LOLOLOL

Ah yes a Democrat is taking the White House so it’s time to worry about debt and deficits again. My bad.

Giving Mitch what he wants means waiting liability for corporations who don't make any effort to limit COVID risk. Work at a meat packing plant without PPE and plexiglas, drive a bus without protection, stock grocery shelves without protection - forcing people who need the money into dangerous situations for minimum or less, wages.

If you give Mitch what he wants now, he will do NOTHING NEXT YEAR, NOTHING.

As if he would ever give anything anyway! Are you kidding me? Where the hell have you been?

There is nothing guaranteeing he'll do anything anyway. Wasn't that what the Dems said would happen after the election? Refusing to accept the President's latest stimulus offer for $1.8 Trillion in October. Now here we are.

I mean...the GOP is right on this one. I’ve watched them extend full stand-alone unemployment bills and stimulus checks for months.

What did Pelosi do? Turn them down.

$1.8 trillion deal pre-election with every wishlist item. What did Pelosi do? Turn them down.

Everytime an offer is made Pelosi’s grand stance is ‘Its not enough’.

So where are we now? A bill worth a quarter of the initial request, no unemployment or no stimulus, barely any local/state aid. Seriously the Dems had a great hand and just - killed it.

All of the bills you reference include the liability waiver for businesses. It is a non-starter that will destroy the individual workers of the country...the critical people who process food, pick food, drive trucks, pack shelves, etc.

The critical people who process food, pick food, drive trucks, pack shelves, etc are ALREADY WORKING. They're in slaughterhouses with executives betting on how many people will be struck down next with Covid-19.

Whether or not this bill passes does not effect their underemployed immediate future nor their families immediate future. Its basically for white collar workers to be able to sue and stay outside of their offices in order to not catch something that the 'essential' workers have been battling since March 2020.

This is ridiculous. You want to see what the working poor are concerned about?

Sucks, but Mitch can and will do whatever he wants. You want any aid, you have to agree with him.

WhT I don’t understand is how P and S are so bad at explaining that to everyday people.

It isn't that they're bad at explaining it to everyday people, it's that the message gets drowned out by the Republican propaganda machine bleating about how Democrats want to shut cities down and kill small businesses that employ patriotic hardworking real Americans.

THIS.
The mainstream media carries water for the GOP and the for the GOP alone. Their messaging is always related, their messaging becomes the narrative. The Democrats are always relegated to some nonsensical position, even as Rep Porter points out that it is one anarchist holding up this whole entire thing. One man with Chinese and Russian money lining his pockets, encouraging him to disrupt and ruin America.

No, you haven’t. The Senate hasn’t even put together a real bill, much less passed one. Those have all been ideas from Mnuchin that McConnell didn’t even negotiate or have the votes for. You’re buying what they’re selling and it’s crap.

Please. Just please stop. None of what the ever offered was better than where we are today. They just need to pass it and get it over with.

Okay, so why are they so good at it and why are Dems so bad at countering it?
