Hmm, kids really are germ beasts. How often were people being tested in your schools and with which tests? Rapid tests suck.
Don’t you think that if it was rapidly spreading among the kids that at least some of their parents would get sick and be symptomatic?

Viral spread is driven by asymptomatic or low-symptom people. Young children are particularly prone to being asymptomatic carriers.

OP, the virus circulated to such levels among the kids that an adult ended up testing positive.
Your post implies that you are assuming the teacher got it from one of the students. That isn't necessarily the case. We have had 4 teachers at our daycare test positive. All 4 of them contracted covid from someone outside of the school. Fortunately, none of the children or parents in their classes became symptomatic.

Anonymous wrote:Unless all the kids were tested, you have no idea whether or not they had it. My sister and her DH tested positive. None of their kids showed any symptoms at all. All three tested positive.

This. Children tend to spread the virus to adults, and can be asymptomatic. That's why teachers are the ones who are more concerned about going back. Why can't people understand this?
If that were the case, wouldn't all the parents be getting sick? Would love to see some science that shows this is happening.
I posted earlier about the 2 year old. His parents tested negative as well. Turns out he likely got it from his grandfather.

Wouldn’t you expect parents to show symptoms then? Genuinely trying to understand.
Do you not understand what asymptomatic means?
Ah DCUM. Can count on you. I actually do understand what asymptotic means. So you’re suggesting all the children in the daycare class were asymptotic AND all of their parents were as well?
