Southern Maryland

That's a poor area. You are comparing a poor area to a rich area like NoVa? If I drive around poor parts of VA will I see litter on the roads? Yes, I will.

You are aware Calvert is one of the richest counties in the U.S. right? Charles and St. Mary's also have high degrees of wealth. WTF are you even talking about?

Have you taken 1-95 to go towards Baltimore. It is puke-worthy.

Is there a way to report these criminals? I often have them on video from the dash cam.

Yes I know that some of you will call me a Karen for wanting to report this.

+1 I will be a fellow Karen I don't care

Oh ok

So why do poor areas have more litter, what is the correlation between poor and litter?

In MoCO, our trash guys are actually pretty good about that. They even sometimes send out someone behind the trash/recycling trucks to make sure it’s not a mess! I’ve seen the lady come by in her pick up truck checking on trash cans, etc.

I wouldn’t blame the trash/recycling guys.

I live in Aspen Hill and I have straight up seen people stop at a stop light, open their car door and just toss their trash out. McDonalds bags and DD cups. Plus water bottles. Water bottles everywhere.

There are plenty of people who think it’s appropriate to toss their trash out the car door/window.

Masks and gloves! I see them everywhere.

And tires. What in the world is up with the tires?

I posted about this a while back! Would have to see if I could find the thread.

Some people said it’s worse in the winter because the grass and plants don’t cover up the trash?

Certain areas in Gaithersburg and Germantown are just terrible.

As an immigrant living in Maryland, the litter everywhere (even in rural areas and beautiful drives) is unbelievable. Does not look like a first world country. What a shame. I am surprised that people are ok with it.

+1 drove out of DC into Md the other day and was shocked by the litter on the DC side close to MD, and then continuing on. Foul.

It's crazy, considering DC is so pristine.

Nobody is doing their "adopt a highway" volunteer work during COVID.
