I am worried you have not been providing adequate sized meals and nutrition for him, which stunted his growth - it may be he is hungry and eating whatever he can obtain to compensate, and that is allowing him to catch up on weight. Not unusual for kids to plump up before they gain a few inches in height. How long since he had his annual physical with a physician? What did they say about his height/weight?
DP, yes he can. Mine was. This was FTT and we saw specialists and were at the Georgetown Pediatrics several times per month. I would have been beyond elated if, at that same, age my DS gained weight. I posted above, so this parent is some truly insane parent who should have been worried about her DS' health!! The way we lived then, was forcing DS to eat 3 donuts, two lunches, seeing specialists left and right. Not posting on dcum!
