Criminals now have free rein over DC because of ridiculously light sentencing due to so called progressive reform in the system. Carjacking and armed carjacking have the longest mandatory minimum sentences of any violent crime in DC. If anything, this shows that harsh sentences are not effective deterrent.
Really? Because both would be off of the streets. Sounds like a win/win to me.
So why are the crime rates so high?
