I think that Honda is less reliable than 20 years ago and hyundai is more reliable. Neither are fancy. They are a tool to get you from here to there.

Disagree. You are totally wrong. Cars are better made today. The difference is just that cars have many more features today. This means more things that can break.
A car with one feature will always appear more reliable that a car with 100 features. This is not because it is better made, but because there is just nothing in that car. The most reliable car is "no car".
