Yeah, I actually cried about Luke Perry.

I continue to feel the deep void left behind by Anthony Bourdain. We sorely need him, his food and travel inspiration, his voice, his smart takes and truth-telling peppered with self-deprecation. Worse, as a fellow sufferer of depression, it's always hard to see someone lose the battle...why him and not me? This time? What about next time?

Tom Petty and Glenn Frey were both also really tough for me. Very meaningful music and memories in my life.

Oh gosh how could I forget. I said Regan up three but this one rocked me. I mean she clearly loved a good long life. I just wanted her to hold out a few more months.

Tim Russert really got me. I watched him almost every Sunday morning. Also Alan Thicke. Growing Pains was my favorite show growing up.

Not me, but my mother when Grace Kelly died. She was so sad. They were around the same age. My mom had been diagnosed with cancer the year before, maybe that played into it. But she was really shook by it.

For me it was Princess Diana. As a little girl I got up early to watch her get married on her wedding day, and then years later as an adult, I was up in the middle of the night to watch her funeral procession. It felt like such a “bookending” moment. And having lost my own mom as a teenager, I ached for the boys as they walked behind the casket.

Princess Diana’s death is the only one that affected me.
