Yeah, I saw people arguing about this on Twitter. Looks like some class-based gyms are asking for clarification. I don't see why OrangeTheory would have to close while Golds stays open, as long as there are never more than the allowed number of people either place and social distancing is followed. Looks like limit is 25 people -- if OT can afford to run smaller classes, it seems like there should be an allowance.
Yeah, that sucks. OTF actually does a really good job of keeping everyone apart for the entire class period, no shared equipment, etc. Not sure why gyms can stay open but OTF has to close.
In other cities with similar restrictions, OTF switched to an “open gym” model. You get a paper with the workout of the day on it, or scan a QR code at your station to get the workout info. Or you can do your own thing. The instructor either teaches through a screen or is only in class to tell people to switch stations, not correct form or give directions. It seems utterly silly. What difference, at this point, does it make??

There's no way OTF can be safe, sorry. It's not about 6 feet of distance.

I belong to a boutique class-based gym and they do a really nice job of keeping people apart and using separate equipment. They're down to like 4 people at a time. Ugh.
I get the frustration, though I honestly think they should make the max capacity limits pretty low right now (like lower than 25) in which case it would probably make it hard to run classes anyway unless you’re talking about essentially just semi-private lessons (which seems like they’d probably be ok? Unless I’m wrong?).
I just think we need something akin to a lockdown for the next month. I’m really scared about post-thanksgiving numbers for Covid.

Wait, this guy works out in an indoor gym? Someone needs to get photos and post online. School isn’t safe for kids but he can just live his bachelor life? Aw hell no
