Depends. A year is different from five. My husband is a year older than I am and he of course knows it--always did, we met when we were in our early 20s so who cared then--but I say we are the same age so much that he believes it now. 40 was hard. I didn't want to be 40 and he still 39! So we celebrated 40 together haha

I'm a man who often sees profiles on dating sites that are clear lies about age. They usually look pretty good for whatever their actual age is, but completely terrible for the age they claim.

Assume the same is true for men's lying profiles, though I never see them.

Come on OP, you have to give us what their real age is and what they told you for us to give you a serious opinion.

I would say that more than half the men I met on dating apps lied about their age, especially the white ones. They did it so they could be under 50 when people search. Only a few admitted it; the rest I found out via research. I think if they tell you right away, before you meet it's kind of gross, but not necessarily a deal breaker.

I'd call the police on them.

I doubt I would have remembered the person's age so it wouldn't be a dealbreaker. Go with your gut and watch for red flags.
