The Family Justice Center Foundation - you can have the coats shipped directly to 600 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 500, Rockville, MD 20852. They give the coats to kids who have to flee their homes because of domestic violence.

If you're inclined and in VA, look into Food For Neighbors. It's a every two month food drive where they pick up the food from your house. It was started by a parent who realized that most food pantries coordinated through schools only work with elementary kids and there was almost nothing for MS and HS kids.

Interesting. My kids are still in elementary, so I didn’t realize this. However, our school is doing a coat drive and will take all coats, including baby and adults.

By the way, Belk has 17.99 London fog coats. Lots of cute styles for girls if you don't find something you like at the Macy's sale.

Also lots of things like 3 dollar bath towels and pillows at belk right now for those who are looking for things to donate!

Thank you, OP! We are buying to donate. I have seen flyers lately for coat drives in our neighborhood. Folks could check their neighborhood listserv.

They are fine. They are not the same quality as something you will spend $200 on, but I have purchased them for my own kids as back ups if they left theirs at school and they ended up liking them as much if not more. We don’t live in Minnesota and they are plenty warm for our winters. DS is at the age where it is a struggle to get him to wear any coat (think of the kids you see in shorts and hoodies) so these are definitely warmer than that.

Curious too. 64 people reviewed it at 3 stars for one of those.

I didn’t. I was worried someone would report multiple postings. I’m trying to do something nice but you never know these days. I will now because so many can benefit from this. I’m glad you did!
