Why would M&D or Heroes 2024 teams or any of their high school teams be looking at mid-season changes? Those teams are strong.

Nothing wrong with adding 1 or even 2 studs that may be unhappy with their other teams. They're also always trying to outdo each other so....

Am I the only one wondering how Capital convinced everyone involved that it was good, even though the club is extremely bad?

Some good points about switching clubs. Do think Capital is broken and probably way beyond repair.

'23s----probably too late but you are not going to be happy with the result, maybe start looking for outside recruiting help now
'24s----based on your skill level and expectations consider making a change, wouldn't expect any competitive schools to look at you unless you move now
'25s----run away, if you don't choose another good team, might even be better to use your money to make yourself a full-time camper without joining a club

lol, did they let all the distinguished people in between 3:27 and 3:36 or was it one capital rep telling everyone how its ok not to be a winning team and even so it's the players and parents fault that we aren't performing.

If your playing only to recruited than your playing for the wrong reasons. Players should be playing to get better, develop, have fun oh yes fun. Playing on a team where one or two players are the only ones who score is not real lacrosse. Real lacrosse is the movement of the ball and players having each other’s backs and utilizing everyone. Until showcase ball figures this out and the players figures this out there will be no success. College coaches want players who will work hard no matter what. No matter is they are on a terrible team, no matter if it is covid and they have missed a season, no matter if the coach of their club team sucks, no matter what... life isn’t given to people who just are on a winning team. A winning team is a culture, a culture of winning starts with the players and the parents behind each player and not individually. Coaches want players who are focused on the skill development and being a team player........signed someone who believes Capital is a great program with incredible coaches and staff.

As a former college coach, I can tell you that we coaches don't care about results as much as seeing a player. Most of the time we aren't around at the end as we are already on another field getting ready to watch another girl. I've seen too much concern about W-L's at the club level by parents scare some coaches away. If she is on a good club that plays at the right tournament we are at, that's ultimately what matters for your daughter.

Coaches do not just show up to watch games. They are on a freeze but they are there and following what goes on. Once coaches can recruit, they use the tournaments just to confirm what they have seen on film and heard from others. They do not stay or check tourney machine to see the score. They arrive with a list of players they want to see. If Capital gets moved to lower events (bracket does not matter if coach is at the event) then exposure would be tough. However it is very unlikely that Capital will not play the right events. If a player is not a D1 level player as a sophomore moving to a better club may hurt more than it helps. Signed an semi interested observer.

My understanding is that teams play in groups based on their level of performance. When teams loose a lot, they get moved down and the chance of a college coach from a strong school showing up to their game decreases. Less coaches watching = less chance of being recruited by your favorite school. Don't think a good athlete on a not so good team is a great strategy.

This is great info. Can you let me know what your current role is in this situation? Club owner, coach, parent, player, casual observer?

A club does not get a player recruited. The ability of the player is what counts. If the Capital 23’s went 0-3 then moving to a new club would hurt the recruiting effort because obviously those teams have better players and they would be back ups or role players. Better to shine on a lesser team as they play the same events coaches don’t care about the scores.
