Nanny here. It is a reality of our industry that we rarely get advance notice. Even for long-term positions where the family loves you and wants to stay close after they let you go, they aren’t going to have all their plans worked out more than a month or two in advance. So the advice above is correct. Start looking two months from when you are ready to start paying her.
