I’m sorry but no, just no. Mission statement is nothing but hot air. Absolutely not top quality coaches. In fact not a single coach who played at a great college. It’s a bunch of George Mason players. Far, far away from a lax powerhouse. They may get some elementary school girls who didn’t make any other team in the area, not even MadLax (which I think is probably impossible). No way will they get a single capable middle or high school player. If they were in Montgomery or PG County they’d have more of a chance but in NoVa? No way. It’s the most saturated area with top programs already and the newest, MadLax girls, hasn’t even been able to field full teams in individual grad years - they are stuck forming combo age teams. This will fold within 3 years.

Very true. YJS is not even close to being a top team.

For a club that's only been around for a couple years they are getting there pretty fast. I like their 2021 commitments from their website.

UVA, Boston, Duke (2), Cornell, Penn State, Radford (2), Davidson, UNC, VCU, Duquesne, GMU, JMU, Wofford (2), Colorado College, WL, Trinity, Shenandoah and Mercyhurst

Considering CLC Instagram of 2020 commits (2021s not listed) show Butler, Cal, Chicago, Colgate, Colorado, Cornell, Dartmouth, Denison, Denver, Elon, Harvard, Jacksonville, Loyola, Umass, Middlebury, Michigan, Monmouth, Navy, UNC, Rhodes, VT, UVA, WL, Wilmington.

Obviously they are doing something right, at least in my view. 8 commits already from 2022 class. If they are getting their girls placed at UVA, Duke, UNC, Penn St and JMU, I would say college lacrosse coaches must like what they see in their program.

A better comparison would be to take out the kJ players, bi unc connection, and visi’s ivy/catholic connection. Then compare what is left in CLC to another club. Tells a better story.

Stupid statement on every point. Kathy can’t get a girl who isn’t a great player committed to a great school. Plenty of the Saints players go to less desirable schools. Rick can’t get UNC to take a player who isn’t good enough on her own. And Visi doesn’t have an Ivy connection. Other area privates do, but not Visi. Visi students go to Ivies but that’s not the same thing as an established pipeline. Neither can Visi just get a player committed to an elite Catholic college for a sport because they are both Catholic. That is just ludicrous. No school can. Yes some coaches can but not the Visi coach. To get committed a player has to be good or have shown a college coach something they want or find desirable. That part is key. They also have to be a decent fit academically. Then you add in who is advocating for a player and yes, that matters, it can make a huge difference but it’s not enough just by itself. Plus the players own relationships, like legacy status or family financials or other connections also can play a big part. There are a lot of factors that play a part in getting recruited. It’s far from some simple equation like you are stating.

Most often the new team fails to retain most players. If the seller gains and funds it is a good deal for the seller. 3D is a recent example how did that work? Seems like a starting from scratch makes more sense

Just a business question. How do you get the evaluation of a lacrosse team to sell or buy it? Or any similar sports club.

I'm glad you're happy with your daughters' experience, but I'm not sure why you're defending or talking about Capital on a thread about YJ.

/Oh dear lord, I saw this in "recent topics" and thought this was just perfect. Covid, murder hornets, covid, and now a swarm of yellow jackets?!

Who knew there was a lacrosse forum?!

Carry on/

None of those girls signed before new rules—just stop trying to take issue with any factual statement that tends to cast Capital in a positive light. My two daughters went through Capital—one played IVy and other played top public/ACC. That’s a fact and I am a satisfied customer.

Some of those girls likely signed before high school so let's see what happens over the next 2-5 years under the current recruiting regulations. As noted, Rattlers ins't currently a competitive club so the success of this new effort will depend on their ability to attract quality players and provide excellent training. I wish them all the best.
