I don’t pay for it. I just use the calorie and weight tracking tools. It’s been helpful for me.

I had good results with Noom. I used it for 6 months, lost 40 pounds, and had developed a strong enough routine during that time to stop using Noom but continue tracking food and daily weigh ins. That was about a year ago, and at this point, I'm not actively tracking anything because I know more or less what everything I eat "costs."

But it is patronizing and I never actually was assigned a coach or a group so I feel like I paid for functionality I didn't experience.

i didn't like it either. i don't need to talk about my feelings re weight loss. I like Weight Watchers way more.

It's only worth it if you know absolutely nothing about nutrition. It's a lot of money for common sense.

I've been using it for a few weeks and it's ok. I'm not learning anything new about nutrition but it is making me actually apply the knowledge. As a PP said, it's keeping me honest since I'm paying for it. It's also making me exercise more so I can log it and gain 100 calories back for the daily allotment. My weight though has fluctuated too much for me to comfortably say I've really lost weight (it's up and down 3 pounds).

It's definitely way too expensive for me to justify it past 3 months.

Just signed up for Noom at full price ($59/month), read these reviews and cancelled my subscription. Then I was immediately offered the $19/month deal so I accepted it. That seems about right to me. I’ll report back in a couple months.

I’ve lost 55 pounds so far. It keeps me honest.

He only started using Noom like 2 days ago, but he loves it so far. He seems to really be taking to their concepts around food (which seem to be focused on understanding which foods are calorie dense, and keeping those foods to a minimum).

I’d say he knew a good bit about nutrition going into this, but keep saying, “oh I didn’t know that” when he’s reading the articles.

Plus he’s lost 1.5 lbs so far! So I’d say it’s worth it for him so far.

Sounds like he had a productive trip to the bathroom.

You could be nice.

Just could not resist. You need a calorie deficit of over 5000 calories to lose 1.5lbs of fat. Very hard to do in two days.

Ok Karen.

You could be more fun.

It’s fun to respond to people’s weight loss journeys with snarky comments?

I think it’s ok if they might fill others with unrealistic expectations.

Haven’t read all the responses. My problem with Noom was that they say it’s all based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Well, I’ve done CBT with a therapist and Noom has nothing to do with CBT. They basically give you tips on behavior and how that works with weight loss. But it was nothing that I didn’t already know. I thought it was a waste of money.

I used it and really didn't find it useful. interesting sometimes, sure, but it really wasn't that motivational.

for what it's worth, I tried weight watchers intermittently for years, then noom, then just got really into the gym and lost 50 lbs (which I realize isn't as possible anymore). it's worth a try for a few weeks because it isn't that pricey.
