Restaurants 50% capacity; 25 person max indoor gathering except for religious gatherings which can be 250; avoid nonessential travel to 35 states with high positivity rates or cases; state workers to return to telework unless they really can't.

Hospitals to plan for surge in Dec/Jan/Feb.

Just answered a question about schools. He mentions the metrics and that the State is regularly providing advice about how to get at least some target populations back into school, but ultimately, legal authority lies with the school board.

Rolling back capacity for bars and restaurants. Gathering limits reduced to 25. This was a much more direct and stern warning that last week. Encouraging telework for all employees and requiring it for state workers able to telework.

I'm so mad I gave up my private school spot. They have been open since August safely. My kid will probably have to repeat kindergarten.

Summary: Wear the damn mask. Not doing anything else. Kids don’t matter.

Kids matter which is why we have DL, masks help but they don't fully stop the virus.

If we go on a full quarantine again people will have a bigger fit.

What sacrifices are you willing to make to get schools open safely?

I lot. I'm willing to make a lot of sacrifices to get schools open. They should be open while bars and gyms are closed. You can't have it all, so we need to decide what's most important. Evidently we've decided that going out to dinner is more important than kids getting a good education and living a semi-normal life.

But here’s the rub. States (including MD) need the sales tax revenues that restaurants and bars generate. And if nothing is open, there won’t be travel to MD so no hospitality taxes. That’s 50% of the sales tax revenue for many states.

I’d give up all of that too for my kids to be in school, but I also get the need for businesses to make money and for the state to have revenue. State budgets pay for things we all need and take for granted.

It’s just not simple anyway it’s diced.
