I’m not aware of any that are being more restrictive than the state on childcare centers.

And this will mean more caregivers furloughed, or working reduced hours. Only can MoCo find a way to screw professionals and the working class at the same time.

This is what you get when the majority of the Council and also the COunty Exec come from ultra-progressive downcounty (Takoma Park / SS). That's why I voted in favor of ballot Question D so we get rid of the at-large seats and have every seat tied to a part of the county.

I live down county but I still need daycare to work! Though not today (Election Day). Today I am stress eating m and ms and scrolling DCUM.

So how do day cares decide? Will it be last-enrolled, first to lose a spot?

Child care centers have been open since March in Maryland yet there have been very few COVID outbreaks at them.

A peer-reviewed study recently published in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics concluded that:

As an example, the state can say it's OK for restaurants to open up to 75% capacity, however they can't force restaurants to open. The county can still limit to 50%. The county cannot allow 100% capacity in that case.

There's a public hearing in 2 days. You can register to testify, and the deadline is tomorrow.

Also, it's a Council hearing, so email the at-large member as well as your local member with your opinion.

Unlike the Board of Ed, the Council members seem to be more responsive to such feedback.

Don't wait for the public hearing to start providing feedback. I don't think the Council has ever voted against or even seriously considered amending these orders once they're presented. Start emailing, calling, sharing on Facebook, etc., now!
