Every time a teen walks by me on Halloween I call out, do you want candy.

It's sad that people shame teens about Trick or Treating.

We don't let them enjoy the simple things in life because we are so afraid of them being "immature"... it's pathetic.

+1 I don’t understand this mentality.

+2. If a kid is dressed up, they will get candy from me.

This!!!! I don’t judge a kid’s situation.

This has always been the philosophy at our house, too. Plus the older teens often have the coolest or funniest costumes.

Nope. You seem like the kind of person that just sucks the zest right out of life. These kids have been home, no school for months, and too old for free candy?? No way. Any person that comes to my house gets full size candy bars. That's how you do it PP.

Totally agree. In fact I held on to our (humongous, epic) dress up collection which my kid never used much when she was younger. Surprise - it got tons of use when she was an high school kid right up through graduating! Once they were past being cool middle schoolers there were all kinds of ways they had fun with silly clothes as they got older.

I don't see why anyone cares if teenagers trick or treat.

14yo not going. I think he's doing a fire pit outside with a few friends. Trick or treating heavily discouraged in our town (lower risk area) but I'm sure some people will do it anyway.
