They sound awful.

My kid asked for a gift certificate to red bubble. There she found a great array of stickers that allowed her to personalize her computer, and express herself.

It is HER computer, not an artifact for museum preservation!

Tervis tumbler or yeti (I like the 20 oz size) with her college logo on it. My daughter received 2 Tervis tumblers and uses them daily.

This would be a strange reaction as it is completely unrelated to the use of the computer and its value. I could care less what my kid does to her laptop as long as she is not expecting me to buy a new one. Laptop stickers are extremely common for teens.

Thanks to all from OP - many great ideas and I am writing them down for when she actualy heads off to college next fall.

I should have been more specific in my request - I am hoping to send her something now for “excitement” value - such as something themed with the college name/logo/mascot - like the Yeti mug above although someone just gave her a tervis tumbler with the college name on it so I probably won’t get that.
