There are more conservative boys in the '24 class but by no means is STA a conservative stronghold. If you had a son there you wold know this. I assume you're the same Mom talking down boys schools while trumpeting all girls schools. Give it a rest.

I'm not PP - but '23 class also seems pretty conservative from when we toured for HS and via experience of friends whose children joined that cohort.

But I guess it all depends on where you are looking from. For example, coming from the standpoint of someone at GDS (which our children are not) STA would feel FAR more different on the "conservative scale" than someone coming from Potomac or St John's (and certainly from Landon or any of the Catholic schools).

When it comes down to it, all schools in DMV have a mix - but some skew more one way or the other and I don't think it's off base to say STA skews more GOP/conservative.

This is hard to apply to any particular person without knowing them. But I'd say for a well-rounded, good-natured boy with decent grades and good recommendations coming from a K-8 school (that will also most likely vouch for him and his family during the application process), that Landon is a solid "in target" option.

If your boy is applying from a well-regarded K through 8 school with decent but no stellar grade and good recommendations, is it hard to get in?

DP, but what you wrote was a little stupid, come on! It's in good fun, but saying it sent kids to Harvard was ridiculous, considering pretty much every place has sent someone to harvard at one point or another. And the subpar comment was on point.
