I had no idea that anyone unplugged their toaster when not in use. How are we still alive?

Yes. And it stays on my counter. Same with my electric teapot.

I unplug my toaster, coffee pot, microwave, chargers, when not in use, yes. Also feel like these things are often more cheaply made, even if name brands, and I don't trust them. I also don"t run my dishwasher or usually my dryer if I'm not home or overnight.

Leaving appliances and such plugged in all the time uses energy and costs you money. Worth learning about.
