I watched it with my 13 year old this weekend. It was definitely pushing the boundaries, but it's no worse than the stuff the kids are watching on youtube these days.

I absolutely would, but he won't want to watch it with me. He's uncomfortable watching even Big Bang Theory with me. I'm expecting he's going to walk out the first cringey moment, claiming that he's traumatized for life.

DSm ,12.5, when we sat down to watch the new Borat last night, he walked in to the living room and walked out again. We turned it off about 30min in after laughing only once - I thought it was a snore (and like other posters here, I like low to high brow - it just didnt do much for me).
I think it depends on the 13 year old and just how much cringe they can take + the themes in the film.

Yes, it's gross, we watched it last night. So a kid might not want to see it. But forbid it? No. It's not cruel or overly scary (which I'll protect my kids from). Vulgar, sexual, all that, yes -- but nothing a teenager can't handle.

Interesting. I didn’t find it that graphic at all. Certainly less graphic than the other SBC movies (Bruno, anyone?). In comparison this was downright tame IMO.

The daughter was dancing a fertility dance, opened her legs to show off her period...obviously it's all theatrics, but it's graphic and even if your 13 yr old has heard & seen it all, Borat takes it to a new level.
Also, is your kid mature enough.
The list goes on (vagina will eat your hand, abortion clinic, innuendos galore).

Totally depends on the kid. My older one would have had the ability to think through the satire at 13 we probably could’ve had an interesting talk about it. My younger one is 14 and I don’t think he would appreciate what the movie is doing yet and it would just be massively uncomfortable and grossed out.

It's satire. If you're worried about your kid not understanding the satire and recognizing that SBC is calling out misogyny, antisemitism, QAnan, racism, and other hostile characterizations, you've got bigger problems in your family that call for discussion.

It depends on what kind of family you are and if you find that funny. My whole family does, so we watch it together. Sometimes I think they learn from seeing our reactions to things. (We also like high-brow things, but like this too.)
