I remember seeing a sales pitch in which a coach said their goal was for kids to be on varsity as freshmen.
I wanted to say, "Dude, this is Fairfax County. These kids aren't going to make the JV."
it probably depends on where in Fairfax. I know in our pyramid if you are a good player on CCL1/NCSL1 team you have a good change of making the high school team as a junior.
It can be hit or miss. Marshall's JV passes on some accomplished travel players in favor of rec-league players. (And they might not be wrong. The best player on the field in a Madison-Marshall JV game in 2019 was a rec leaguer, though I think he had played travel in the past.)

Smart
Other than for a scholarship why would anyone want to Men's college soccer? It is beyond horrible.
And to answer your question, no.

Anonymous wrote:Playing college isn't that hard really. If you do your research you can find a college team you can play for. The truth is getting a full scholarship for a boy is almost unheard of. There are plenty of clubs BRYC is a great example. They boast of their players continuing their career at so and so college. They don't tell you its not a soccer athletic scholarship. Its a combination of academic and other financial aid applied for year to year. If your son plays for Vienna B team he can play in college if you want. It might be a D3 or NAIA in Idaho or Montana . and you will have to PAY full or some tuition. but they can play. Most people tend to way the rewards in college and choose studies over soccer. And Yes the ECNL parents take note here your kids are in the exact same boat. Their superior league as they think doesn't equate to an athletic scholarship in soccer. Most of your elite kids will continue to pay to play even at the college level. There will always be exceptions and outliers but vast majority fall into this category

Thankfully you honor your nickname. Using one random’s single game (you’ve mentioned it several times in different threads) to establish an assessment tells us everything we need to know about you.
Keep ranting on!
