Subject: Buying a new car the last year before a major redesign?
OP here. Thanks everyone. I’m thinking the new MDX will be a budget buster most likely, so buying the 2020 is a way to stay on budget. Or alternatively I get something else entirely, possibly the new Highlander. I know these two will fit through my 8’ garage door, not many will.

I like to drive my cars for 8+ years. I don’t like buying something that looks dated from day 1.

not tesla, i hope consumers demand the tesla model and make all other cars go bankrupt with the old way of cars

only tesla because they continue to upgrade their cars, other cars are trash at the end of their lifecycle, in fact stop buying these awful cars who scam you and expect you to buy new to get the latest updates

first year redesigns may get more features, but they also get more recalls- especially the cars from early in the model year

Get the “deal.” You can drop the car earlier because you’ll get to the break-even point a lot quicker.
Also, you really need to compare the redesign and features. They may drop features you really like. Or the redesign may add features you really want.
I’ve noticed that with redesigns they put features you may really want (eg, heated steering wheel) into higher trim lines than in the previous generation.
You really need to compare closely.
