I can’t believe the people saying well you were out and about all day so it wasn’t that bad. Uh, she was out and about all day and the pain often gets worse as the day wears on. OP had probably reached her limit and might not have had any Advil on her to take more. Everyone feels better at home, especially when they’re already tired from being out and socializing the entire day. Team OP l—except grow a spine and leave on your own next time. Let your husband fend for himself.
This is ridiculous. Surely MIL has Advil. Grow a spine and ask for some. But seriously, I can’t imagine being such a wimp. I once went to a dinner party an hour after I broke two ribs in a farm accident, because I’m not a flake.

Do you work? I assume you have requested FMLA until your wrist stops hurting.
It's not like you said you stumbled during the winery trip and fell on your wrist and ended up with a bad sprain and possible fracture. If you did, you should have said so. Although kinda sounds like your MIL had had a long day and really wanted to check out for the evening.

Really?
Her own daughter wasn’t staying. Why is it her daughter in law’s responsibility to stay?
I do agree that OP needed to be assertive and say “Thank you, I need to go home” and if DH tried to railroad her, she should have gotten an UBER.
