We had about 20. My cousin got married in March just before everything shut down and had 27. Some aunts and uncles had their feeling hurt, but they got over it.

Like the poster above, I really do not like being the center of attention at all (I stopped having birthday parties as soon as I could have a say in the matter -- around 7-8). We had a small wedding with about 20 people. It was a nice, subdued affair. A little before that I attended a school roommate's wedding that had about 500 people -- his father was a big-time politician in Tennessee. I stood in the receiving line talking to people, and quickly came to the realization that most of the people around me didn't know my roommate at all but were obliged to go because his father had asked -- it just seemed so strange to me. Not any worse -- or better -- just different.

Oh -- wedding size is no predictor of success. My old roommate got divorced a number of years ago and I'm now going through separation. If you want a big wedding and can afford it -- go for it! If you want a small wedding or wish to elope but are afraid friends and family might get upset ... who cares! Do what works for you and your SO!

We splurged on our honeymoon (Bermuda) and for the wedding we got a TOP photographer and a harpist, two things I really cared about.

PP here and this! Except we were young. No one cares. We had a beautifully appointed wedding. No hard feelings.

Yes and it was AMAZING.

What’s funny is that the venue keeps using our photo for posts now about “micro weddings”, even though our wedding was in 2012.

It was immediate family, and maybe 5 close friends. I only invited my “best” friend.

We didn’t have attendants.

It was the best.

I had immediate family only and it was great! We still did all the work -- flowers, catering etc. but it was so relaxing and wonderful. No friends were mad because none were invited. Actually I think they were mostly relieved. I got married a bit later and most our friends had young kids and it would have been a long trip.

One of my siblings had a wedding with just immediate family and one friend. There were 11 guests. It was perfect.

Ours was a little over 20 - family (MIL, siblings and spouses, and nieces and nephews on my side) plus one friend each. It was really nice. We had it in a restaurant banquet room. Low key and genuinely fun.

We had good friends who had a 20-person wedding. Rooftop of a NYC hotel. Delicious food, lots of fun, and it felt really special. We actually were able to have a real conversation with the grooms (same-sex wedding), who were incredibly relaxed and happy. They could have had a big wedding if they wanted, but they said they did this because they didn't want a long wait for a venue, they didn't want to be stressed about planning a big event, and they just wanted their best friends and closest family.

We had 20 guests and were the only ones at this great inn in the Catskills. Indoor pool and ice skating along with hiking in December. We had the best time!! We paid for the rooms for the weekend for everyone (amazing breakfast included) and the reception dinner, of course. We danced for hours! It was also a great way for his friends and my friends to get close.

Best, best wedding ever! And I got to wear a short dress.

Our ceremony was small - we did a weddingmoon in USVI. 10 guests total joined us for Memorial Day weekend. Did things together for a couple days and then had the ceremony. It was fun and those who were there have great memories of it.

We then had at home parties later in the summer-a more formal reception near my parents house and then a bbq get together at my in laws.

I feel like I literally had 20 weddings one year. They are fun, but people go to be polite - they don't want to offend their friends/family. You do you, OP. It sounds ideal, seriously!
