It's OP here - I went to children's national and had an AMAZING experience. Had baby super hydrated, warm. The guy who took the sample was incredible. 1 try. Minimal crying. Thank you for all your suggestions.

I have no idea as I don't know where you live. However, given past experience, make sure your child had a bottle or plenty of water at least 1 hour before the procedure. The better hydrate the person (any person - infant/adult/old), the easiest it is to find the vein and drawn the blood.

Sometimes insurance has rules about which lab but you can call and check. Also pay out of pocket. Watching someone skilled do it versus someone not familiar with infants is insane and painful (to parent and child). Worth it to pay for the expertise

Do you know if the Children's lab affiliated with lab corp?

Why do you need LabCorp in particular? I assume this is for a doctor, so Children’s could send the results.

My ped said that she sent the order to lab Corp. so I assumed I had to go there? Maybe I can ask for the order to go elsewhere.

Thank you all! This is so helpful! I didn’t want to go to just another lab Corp.

You can definitely ask her to send it to Children’s or wherever. Personally I’d go to Children’s, since I’m sure they have people who are experts at doing infant blood draws.

Good luck!
