^Wow. I don't think it is that serious. I will say, I think a BIG factor with any player is the environment at home and among the other players. The OP mentioned that the players work on skills at home. That and the fact that the parents seem to know the game pretty well, and seem to be fans helps a lot for those kids to learn the details of why they play that way. A lot of kids just do not have parents that are real fans of the game. I also suspect the group has been together for a long time, and that helps. I don't know, but I suspect that with a lot of teams that chemistry is a factor. So a team with more rotation during play and players coming and going over seasons have a hard time. Again, just guessing....

Most likely a friendly since it was played at night. Also this is either U11 or U12 since there are 9 a side. U10 only plays 7v7.
Yes. U11. Got confused by the "10" in the team names. Thought it referred to U10, but it seems it referred to 2010.

1. I don't think it matters whether it's apples to apples or not. The point of this post was to show parents, many of whom are probably unaware, what the results of good coaching look like. The Sterling players demonstrate good technical skills and style of play, irrespective of who they are playing against. This post was not intended to start a pissing match where McLean parents become hot and bothered about whether their first or second team is the opponent here.
2. Sterling (a tiny club) playing McLean's (supposedly a local powerhouse) top team would most definitely NOT be apples to apples. It should be more like David vs Goliath.
3. In fact it appears that Sterling 10B Orange and McClean Green do both play in NCSL. See the NCSL schedule page here: http://www.ncsl-soccer.com/_element_display/#%2F80738%2Fteams%2F98944822%2F92759556-98944952%2FTEAM.html%3Frnd%3D1602098674833. So this most likely is indeed McLean's top team. Note that MclLean is not a terrible club with terrible coaches. They are in fact a large club whose teams are usually competitive at a reasonably high level. However the gap between McLean's fairly standard US travel soccer style coaches and whoever is coaching Sterling is pretty clear.

Really the point of the OP wasn't to brag about Sterling or talk bad about McClean, just an example of good soccer. I honestly still can't figure out this alphabet soup of youth soccer leagues, but point taken that it perhaps was not McClean's "A" team playing against Sterling's "A" team.

Sheesh - the soccer-crazy parents do more trash talking than any kids I've seen.
It's especially funny (albeit disturbing) to see the red-faced, hyperventilating screaming fathers (at games) and uber-nasty comments on here about ... girls soccer. For real? It's not very lady-like.
I would put money on the fact that the majority of the crazies in the soccer forum are not moms.
