My child's team played all these teams and while Arlington was very good, these other teams were just on a whole different level.

I don't think Arlington would have been happy in MLS either--given that group also includes non MLS teams like SYC and Alex (also great teams but not the same league as VDA and Richmond).

Arlington wants the DA back--but the DA is dead so it is what it is...

Considering Arlington's record against VDA (4-1-1), it seems that the former club was more merciful than the latter when playing your DC's team.

Well actually VDA beat Arlington as well in our age group...they and Richmond are pretty equivalent.

Is there any truth to the rumor, that Arlington will put their ECNL 'Academy' team into MLS Next next season and the Red teams will take their ECNL slot?

What age group?
For northern virginia,
Richmond is leading in U16,
McLean is leading in U17
and I didn't find Arlington in top 3 in U18

are you talking about u13?

As far as I can see Arlington is leading U14, 2nd in U15, leading U16 (the table seems to sort on PPG rather than total points so teams with less points but a game in hand are shown ahead of Arlington here), 4th in U17 and 11th in U19. Not sure if that counts as "leading" - but it's obviously a pretty good performance.

For U16, I think Richmond won all games and Arlington tied one, so Richmond is leading.
