I'll put Flushing, Queens on the list. Actually not that expensive if you move out of downtown Flushing (a couple miles east/north).
Access to Manhattan, good airports, tons of asians, tons of good food, walkable (maybe need a car occasionally)
I would do Houston except for the weather. No can do the humidity there. And I have relatives in Houston.
