+1 My friend planned to name her baby Emma and was so upset when the Rachel & Ross had their baby and named her Emma shortly before she was due. But she stuck with the name and I'm sure nobody thought she was being named for the "Friends" baby or even remembered the timing. Use the name you love. That said, of your list of alternates, I love Poppy.

I don't think Diane is like Daisy, but I do love it. I have trouble naming a baby Diane though. Does it have any nicknames I'm not thinking of that would work for a kid?

It's not unique enough to be associated with celebrities's kids, i.e., Harper or Nevaeh.

I like that it's short and sweet. Our older daughter has a longer, kind of musical name, but we mostly call her by her -y nn (think Molly or Ginny), and we really like how it goes with Daisy. We also like that our older daughter's name is cheerful and want something similar. We feel like a child born in a pandemic deserves a cheery name!
Some alternatives I'm considering:
Poppy
Lucy
Dahlia (nn Dolly)
Lettie (probably short for Violet but maybe on its own).
Thoughts? Other suggestions?
You could argue the other names, especially Poppy (Jenna Bush Hagger's daughter is named Poppy), is celebrity associated.
In fact, Poppy reminded me of Jenna Bush's kid.
Dolly reminds me of Dolly Parton and Dolly the Sheep (the first cloned animal)
Do you see how your logic is flawed by giving up on the name Daisy.

OP here. Thanks everyone! This is really making me feel better about Daisy.
