Went in at 7 pm, in room by 8. Started cervical ripener at 9 pm. Another dose at 1 and 5 am. Contractions were going so I got an epidural at 630 am. After that went in, they checked me and turns out I was only 2 cm dilated despite the strong and regular contractions LOL. Man I felt like an idiot. Anyway they decided to do a foley bulb at 9 am instead of a fourth dose of ripener. Dilated quite quickly after that so pitocin never ended up starting and baby was born at 1230 after 10 minutes of pushing. Ended up having a retained placenta and was never more pleased to have that epidural still working while the dr was elbow deep in there trying to manually dislodge. That didn't work and I ended up with a D&C. Finally got to snuggle with baby around 230/3 pm.
I'm the immediate PP who got the painful cervical stretching BEFORE the epidural, and I think you ended up doing it in the right order!
