Coaches would rotate moving girls to the second team for games. This, of course caused a lot of anger amongst parents so coach decided to permanently move 2 players to the second team. They were still allowed to practice once a week with the top team. One parent up and left the club. Coach refused to give them their player card so she could not play in games with new team. The other refused to move. Coach stopped playing her in games completely. It was a very sad situation and upsetting to all of the girls.
That’s when you go above the coaches head and request VYSA release the player card (there is a process), the team can oppose the request, but they will have to justify breaking a contract and most likely have to explain why they had a roster size that exceeded guidelines

I think the issue is when you sign on you are committing to a "club" and although assigned a team they can pretty much do whatever they want

Its not fair to the teammates on the top team to not have the best players as teammates. If your DD was a top player you would see it from that perspective.

DD is worried she's going to be moved down a team and it's not due to any issues other than she has not been playing as well as before. DH is annoyed and thinks it's still early in the season and if she was playing on the lower team she would have signed up for a different club. He's right about her signing up for a different club if she had been moved down earlier. But I feel like it's the pandemic and everyone is playing worse than before and even though it may not be "fair" after they took our money with an understanding of a team assignment I feel like the world has other things to worry about. We should be happy she gets to play at all.
It happens. Since you committed for a year, you might have to play the entire amount before that club releases your daughter’s Player’s Card. Think about it and talk to your club.
Not OP, but I'd say no if they tried to reassign my DD. We accepted an offer that clearly stated which team she would be playing for. If it was an offer for a different team, we'd be at a different club.
