I would buy the Toyota. Honda quality has taken a dip and I never see ten-year-old Mazdas on the road like you do both Hondas & Toyotas.

But I also agree with the PP who said to take a hard look at the Palisade if you can find one.

Good to know! They just have added that in 19 or 20. The one I looked at (18 I think) did not have them.

I have a Pilot. I chose it because the interior space was best in my mind, I actually like that it is wider. I agree it isn't the most attractive, but I was getting a family car so it checked the most boxes.

DH has a CX5, which looks similar to the CX9, just smaller. I do not like the way the CX5 drives

We wanted the palisade but you can't find one and they are marked up when you can, so didn't do it. Highlander has a smaller third row, so that was a pass. The Pilot felt very 2012, honda is just phoning it in at this point. We ended up with the CX9, really performs well, handles great, decent tech, and fits everyone nicely.

I’ve had the very used Acura (3k$ used), Hyundai new, Toyota Corolla, Highlander’s new, rav 4 new and Subaru turbo new and ford used, Kia compact , Jeep used... so want to try Honda

Audi Wagon, Dodge Ram, Ford Mustang ... these are all great vehicles, but the Honda has so many extra features I didn’t even realize we were getting when we purchased the car. Plus, it’s great for traveling- kids have their own captains seat and there is plenty of storage for all of our stuff. Plus, it’s just a great all around ride in general.

I loved the Highlander when we tested it (few years ago). Our only hesitation was that we are all really tall and it felt a little tight. My Husband was also really insistent that the third row be usable for adults (which he admits was ridiculous). We ended up with a GMV Acadia and that was mainly driven by the fact that we could easily get that with captains chairs in second row (kids were still in car seats and we carpooled to school regularly so needed easy access to that third row). Ironically, I don’t find the Acadia driver seat comfortable for my height. Our carpool friends did have a Highlander and kids said third row was tight.
