He sounds like a horrible person. Maybe he was pretending to be someone else and realized you know him? Whatever the explanation, it’s definitely him, not you. You, on the other hand, should give a “cheers” to the fact that you dodged a bullet.

I had a date last week with a guy I had been talking to on an app, and on the phone and via text. He was easily at least 100 lbs more than expected but I still went on the date. Then he ghosted me! LOL
People are jerks. I know it is hard, but try not to take it personally.
