OP, if you're not a churchgoer, no worries. The key, I think, is finding people with values and interests you both share. I think that's easier to do by engaging in what really interests and engages you, and meeting people through that. (It could be work, church, volunteering, a sport, etc.) You can put that stuff down on an online dating site and so can anyone else, but meeting people who are out there actually engaging in things ensures they're the real deal.
