30 minutes to 2+ hours. Most often it’s 45 mins.

You cannot possibly mean she wakes up from her nap at 6:30. And then goes to bed two hours later? Typo, right?
ha maybe not! I met a mom once who had an only child who napped from 2-4:30/5 woke up ate dinner at went to bed at 7. The kid was 4 almost 5.

Our 4 year old doesn't take naps during the day. She likes to go to bed late. At 8 pm or 830 pm we take her upstairs, brush teeth, pyjama, story. So the evening routine takes about 45 minutesShe likes to sleep till 8 am or so. It's so hard. I can't wait when she gets independent.

15-20 min for my 4.5 yo. Usually head up around 710/715. Brush teeth, change to jammies, potty, 2 books, lights out, kiss goodnight, shut the door around 730. Sleeps 745/8pm-630/7am

Yeah, my DH is also a lawyer who works crazy hours and he does bedtime, then goes back to work. With 3 kids in the mix, one being an infant, he needs to step it up.

Stop the nap.

I cannot believe some of you start bedtime at 6:00-6:30.

Can you manage an earlier bedtime? And ask daycare to stop naps for 4 year old? Those are the 2 biggest issues it sounds like. My kids didn’t nap past age 3 and as soon as naps stopped they’d reliably go to bed at 7. To answer your title question: it takes about 20-30 minutes (Maybe 40 minutes if they’re taking a bath, which we don’t do every night) to get my 5 year old to sleep including the whole bedtime routine. We start getting them ready for bed between 6:30-6:45, bath or wash up, brush & floss teeth and go potty, put on pajamas, read 1 book, sing 1 song while rubbing their back and then lights out and we leave.

After tubby time my kids will play for 20-30 minutes then we read for 15-20 minutes and cuddle for a few minutes more. They are usually pretty tired so there is rarely a struggle.

Just jumping in to say my 9yr and 10yr old still need some attention to get them to bed. It doesn't really end but it gets easier.
I agree with the PPs who say they should get to bed a lot earlier. It really helps. Mine are in bed at 830pm and they're 9 and 10!!!!

Solid hour for my 5 year old. We go up at 8. It's always been a struggle. I think it depends largely on kids' personalities. Mine is a night owl.

About 45 min. This includes bath, PJs, last-minute snack, brushing teeth, reading, good-night kisses. I don't see my kids going to bed by themselves any time soon. But they are asleep by 7pm, which gives me plenty of time for cleaning/unwinding.

I brush their teeth while they’re in the bath, 4 year old pees/gets dressed/picks out books while I put baby to sleep, and then we read, sing maybe one song, cuddle for 2-3 minutes.

+1 this exactly except just with my 4yr old.
