I second the Velcro swaddles and a bouncy seat (can lay the baby there in whatever room you’re in if you don’t want to hold them all the time).

Rock n Plays. I know they don't sell them now, but my kids slept in those every night from about 1 month old until about 6 months.

Even then I knew the positional asphyxiation risks, but I was always convinced the risks of not using them outweighed the risks of using them.

Besides those, the Baby Bjorn bouncer was very, very useful at about 1 month old.

Ring sling/ wrap. DD did NOT like to be put down.

Nanny. We weren’t going to start a nanny until after my maternity leave was over but the world’s greatest nanny became available and she wouldn’t wait so we started her at three weeks. The difference she made was phenomenal! DH had to go back to work and I was overwhelmed so she was a true godsend for me and DD.

+1 DH to bring me food; knowing there were 2 other people in the house so if I needed to sleep or shower or anything I wasn't dumping it all on one other person, and support when I started to spiral into PPD due to breastfeeding stuff.

my kids are 10 so I had to look up what a SNOO was. I wish I could time travel so I could drop one of to myself during the newborn phase.

A good infant swing. We had the mamaroo and it worked but wasn't the best. However, we didn't have anything to start and could never put our baby down until we got one.

Comfy, not too frumpy mom clothes. I felt like a real human (not a blob) once I finally invested in some decent comfortable yoga pants and large tops that were convenient for nursing.

Baby sling.

Good nursing and pumping bras. And pump. You may need to pump right away if you get engorged.

Nipple cream. (Believe me, I found out the hard way you really need it).

A good lactation consultant. If there are any birding issues, reach out immediately.

Muslin swaddles, diapers, wipes, nipple cream, bottles and formula in case, burp cloths, pacifier, infant car seat, hoppy pillow.
