I think a lot of teen girls buy their clothes from cheap stores they find on Amazon. If she just types in "teen baggy pants," that will probably get her started.

Forever 21 actually has a lot of different styles, even though they skew trendy/flashy. Also, Tillys has more of a skater style.

The stuff takes forever to get to the states -- this is not Amazon prime -- but it's inexpensive and you will find allll the "cool" stuff. Again it depends what "cool" is to her -- how artsy, exactly? -- but my kid is very fashion forward, skews kind of edgy, and this is where she is shopping now.

Also romwe, shein.com - Chinese sites. I haven't ordered her stuff from these but her friends buy stuff there.

100% echo Poshmark. Get an account and have her browse for a bit. You might want to help her out figuring out fit at first. You can filter on size; it's also very helpful to look at specific garment measurements. Lots of sellers will post garment measurments (waist and "pit to pit" which is a rough guide to bust measurment). She should measure things she has that fit in the way she likes, and use those as a guide.

Any of the teenager stores will have the type of clothes you are describing. Is she wanting cool brands/are certain stores considered uncool at her school? Because that stuff is really school and even crowd specific. Maybe give her a visa gift card or store gift card that is specifically for clothes so she doesn’t worry about the rip off feeling?

She’s likely interested in places like Tilly’s and Zumiez. South Moon Under is great but that’s for the Potomac/Bethesda mainstream teen crowd. Based on your description, your daughter would not like the clothes there. If you want to thrift more upscale try Uptown Cheapskate.
