FWIW, I used a PISA with my first 3 kids. I ended up getting a new one with insurance after each delivery. The PISA worked great with my 1st and 2nd but didn’t work as well for my 3rd (and it wasn’t the pump - I tried my older one too and had the same results). I got a Spectra S1 for my 4th and it was so much better - emptied me faster and more comfortably. You might want to try a different pump (highly recommend the Spectra).
I notice I need to turn the Pisa up lately. Which spectra do you have? I plan on BFing until the pandemic ends (don’t tell my husband!) so I think itd be a worthy investment.
NP - the S1 so you aren’t tied to an outlet. You’ll likely need to get either Nene supply or Maymom flanges from Amazon if you need smaller ones since Spectra doesn’t go smaller than I think 24mm.
Thanks. I ran out to target today bc they had both in stock. I have always worked from home and only expect 4-10 more months of pumping so I got the cheaper one. I can always use my pisa or get a car outlet if I want to pump in the car.
Also, I pumped before bed last night and woke up feeling good and have spent all day feeling ok. I am excited to try the pump!

Op, this was happening to me, waking in a cold, wet bed daily. Mine just turned 1 and we had a very similar schedule - 7, 930, 12, 230, 5, 7. Within the last month, she dropped the 5 pm feed so I moved dinner to then. She's now completely emptying me at 7 pm and I'm not waking up engorged anymore. I think between nursing at 5, dinner at 6 and then nursing again at 7, she just wasn't really that hungry at 7, leaving milk in there which would then sit overnight and leak everywhere.

Are you not pumping during the day? Typically you would just pump for every feed your nanny does and then she can use that milk for the next day. You should not have to pump at night (other than maybe a small amount to relieve discomfort).

I always used a beaded hot / cold pack from Walgreens to warm up a little and get milk flowing. It would help me fully empty. Also, if I was getting engorged, I’d squeeze a little off - not a full pump which just made me produce more, but an ounce or two to take the edge off. Also, I’ve heard cabbage leaves can help but that may reduce supply.
