1. My DH plays too much. He makes a joke out of everything. It's frustrating. Sometimes I just want a nice compliment like "you look nice today honey" instead of a joke. It would be fine if it wasn't constant, but I do think he does it sometimes to cover up insecurities/awkwardness (i.e. he's not comfortable giving me a nice compliment so he makes it a joke (even though he really does mean what he says...he just says it in a joking manner)).

2. He is very rigid/controlling - needs things in a certain order, needs to plan ahead, very orderly, needs to know everything that's happening and ahead of time. I don't function that way, so it is hard to meet that need all the time. Things can be as small as making DD change her skirt because she wore it 3 days ago to getting mad when the house isn't perfectly clean 24/7 (we have 3 kids).

3. Curses a lot. Like a lot. And in front of the kids. I can't stand it.

He wishes he could blame his bad habits on “personality.” What a BS cop out for not working on it.

His breathing is loud. His walking is loud. His laugh is annoying.

But other than that he's fine.

Perfectionist, rigid, controlling, supercilious, tendency to be a martyr.

Everything is something to get done. A checklist. There's no joy in anything. Constant obsession with details, anticipating disaster.

Not personality traits..but he has habits that annoy me to no end.

-Leaves food packages open. It could be a bag of chips left open on the counter or a resealable cheese package in the refrigerator (which I went to remove and had cheese spill out all over because he didn't bother to close it), or sometimes it is a glass container of leftovers he will open up, take some bites, then put back without putting the lid on completely.

-Grabbing food meant for serving utensils with his hands. It is usually something I out on the table to be served family style (big bowl of berries) and he will totally ignore the serving spoon and grab a handful.

-Leaving doors open or unlocked

His left leg spasms when he falls asleep. Irregular and bed shaking. IT DRIVES ME NUTS and keeps me awake.

For some reason, after sex he always snores but the sex is so good I only complain mildly.

I find some reason to excuse and not be around him when he does that.

In my last relationship - potty/fart jokes and funny voices whenever I was trying to be sexy.

But I didn’t tolerate it for too long and we split.
