My DS attends a state university in PA. They just finished week 3 of classes. I was skeptical of them making it to Thanksgiving but as each week passes I become less so. Students can get tested at any time. The University is also conducting randomized testing for asymptomatic students by invitation. There have been 3 cases (2 on campus and 1 off). They are holding classes in a similar way to what you mention and meals are grab and go. My DS says mask compliance is basically 100% on campus and when he sees other students in town it’s the same. If anything they are wary of the townspeople who are unmasked.

It’s not a very large school and is located in a small town. Maybe that’s a difference? Obviously there are varying factors but it’s interesting to think about why some schools have hundreds of cases or a larger percentage of students positive while others have such a small number.

Well, technically they were not on campus. They were in a hotel in Boston...
