This gives them worse separation anxiety because they never know when you’re going to leave. I had a friend who did this and instead of working through it with her child she’s just disappear. That kid was so ill behaved and anxious it was awful. Can you imagine the center of your universe disappearing and they never tell you they’ll come back? Kids can learn that mom says “bye bye” and comes back. They'll never learn to be ok with you running off.
