Firstborns tend to be a little bossy, are often the most successful and protective of younger siblings, so I’d pick a boy. Would want a girl after that, followed by a boy again, then a girl again. Same sex siblings can to be most competitive with each other do the girls/ boys spaced out would be nice.

Yeah I'm interested too. I have girl then boy and it's been wonderful. She is so protective of him, he looks up to her so much. It's just awesome.

Same. Plus the first child sort of determines the toys. We have such a cute girly playroom. I’ve also read that boys with older siblings make better husbands

More like IVF. We are not India or China and cultural preferences dictate how big of an issue this is on a broad scale. In countries with higher gender equality, you can do "family balancing" sex selective IVF and it's not really an issue because you have close to a 50/50 split on which sex is requested by couples. You can see that here in the comments.

Omg same. I actually had to check the date to see if I wrote this.

I have a girl then a boy. I wanted #2 to be a girl soooo badly. I wanted my daughter to have a same sex sibling. We’re TTC #3 and hope it’s a girl. We’re thrilled either way, we just think life is better for girls and they’re a bit easier to raise.

If you asked me before I had kids, I would say boy then girl. But now I have 2 boys, ages 8 and 10. And I wouldn’t change a thing.

I always wanted what nature gave us. I never understood wanting it any other way, but to each her own.

Amazing how sorry DCUMers feel for my rich, happy, healthy kids.

We ended up with Girl-Boy and it’s miserable. I’d do Boy-Girl or two boys.
But what we have now is just a bad combo for our family.

Prior to having kids, I would have chosen Girl-Boy, that order. Just because I wanted a girl, so I would have checked that box from the first go. I ended up with Boy-Girl, which is also great. I am lucky.

Never mattered to DH or I. We ended up with 2 of each. B, G, B, G. I would never choose the sex if given the choice. We'd be happy with whatever we got.

Girl. I always wanted an only girl and that’s what we have.
