If you want to have kids and will only do so after you are married then no a year is not too early at your ages. If you don’t want kids then I would say wait a little longer before engaged to see how well you live together. It’s one thing to stay with someone a lot. It’s another to actually live together.

Wife and I worked in the same company for over a year before our first date. Were engaged after six weeks. Lived together another year and now married for over 30 years. If you know it you know it.

Not too early, no. Especially at your age, and with the amount of time you spend together.

DH and I had known each other for 6 months before getting engaged (I was 32, he was 35). I wouldn’t advise it to anyone in their 20s, but 30s? Yes.

We’ve been married for 19 years.

Not too soon.

Oh well in that case you're good. An engagement after a year for people in their 30s is not unheard of. It's also only an engagement if after living together you feel it isn't right, you split up no big deal.
