+1 My dd is 12 as we’re going through this and she figured out that dad cheated without my saying a word. She’s made comments that show that she knows he’d rather spend time with his friends than his actual family, and that he needs to act more like a grown up. I never wanted her to know these things, but she’s lived it, and you can’t hide this stuff from a kid old enough to see and understand what’s going on.
Yep. They also are iPhone/computer adept and sometimes unknowingly see signs before their betrayed parent.
They understand a lot more than people give them credit for. Sometimes a kid knows before a parent and keeps that painful secret a very long time. Completely damaging to a kid.
Yup. I found out myself at 16 that my mom was cheating because my knowledge of computers was so superior to hers. Because I understood MS-DOS!
There is very little you can do to stop an angry, suspicious teenager.
