Subject: ncsl schedule release
PP here. Mostly covid related. Financial issues, kids don't feel comfortable playing, or kids just lost interest. Kind of sad to see it happening since the kids were doing so well pre-covid. I am concerned they don't even have enough to field a team.

The brackets were already updated once and a few team moved already but mostly in the lower division. Just hoping to actualy see a schedule and would like to see where the MoCo teams have their home games. Maybe load them on the back end leaving the option to change them to more away games. I do think they did a good job on the brackets by limiting to many MoCo teams in each bracket to avoid double road games on neutral fields in VA

Negative. Once brackets are done is as solid as the Sumerian tablets.
Did your team lose those players due to COVID fear-induced parents or they went to another club?

Yep U16 boys is blank.
For U13 boys are B team is listed, but no schedule for our A team.

Different poster but yeah compared to where we were a few months ago where it seemed like no youth sports at all was a possibility - practices and scrimmages are a big improvement. I think the season will happen - cases in the players age range are well under control and there is not yet any sign of COVID-19 spread from youth soccer and full practices have been running since 7/1.
Agreed. It is not ideal but a lot better than the alternative of nothing
How much money do you mofos make to be contempt with shelling out around 3 grand for crappy scrimmages? Honest question.
I’m poor but even if I made 6 figures like you I still would NOT pay such monies for such a lame ROI.
Did you mean "content" instead of "contempt"? As to seeing a return on investment...I guess it depends on what your goals are from a season. Is it that your kid improves? If so, keep in mind that just because your kid might not be playing league games, it doesn't mean that your kid wouldn't improve through training and scrimmages. For example, my kid trains does supplemental training outside of team practices twice a week. There are NO scrimmages associated with this training. He is motivated by getting better. If your goal is to move up from D3 to D2 in NCSL, then yeah, you won't see any return on your investment. If your goal is for your kid just to get exercise and socialize, then scrimmages are fine there too.

Im actually surprised by how motivated my u9 ds is. He did one on one with a coach earlier in the summer and is now doing team practices. We are in moco so no scrimmages or games in sight, has not scrimmaged since precovid. He is just as excited as last year (thus far) and has improved tremendously. Also enjoys practicing with the other kids. Worth the cost imo.

Are you saying you are comfortable shelling out somewhere between $2-3K for intraclub practice games?

I agree, my goal is for my kid to improve. I also don't really think of him in terms of an "ROI." He enjoys soccer and wants to scrimmage, so if I can get that for him and he's exercising, improving, and happy, I'm happy.
Also, our family does make six figures, but if we didn't, we wouldn't be investing in travel soccer, which we view as a nice thing for my son, but not a need.

We have tentative schedules for EDP. Matches begin September 26. Times and conflicts still need to be sorted but it is underway.
Our EDP season starts 9/13.
