Was using natural family planning, pull out, tracking, and abstaining during ovulation window.
Our DC will be two at the end of August.

The pull out method always worked for us. Decided to ttc and was pregnant in 2 cycles. I wouldn’t recommend pull out if it would be a problem if you got pregnant.

The pull out method works until it doesn't. I know more than a few women that had surprise babies from relying on the pull out method. Why? If you both have above average fertility, then even the small amount of sperm in precum can be enough for conception. Plus, people get sloppy and either forget to abstain around ovulation or pull out too late. Lastly, the further into your 30's you get, the more common it is to have slightly irregular cycles - you could ovulate a few days earlier or later, ovulate two eggs, etc. Just because you've done it successfully for years does not mean you won't have a surprise early ovulation one cycle and end up pregnant. I did, twice. The one time we were trying I got pregnant approximately the day I went off BC.

OP, because I was over 30 and had been on birth control for a decade, I quit birth control a few months before I ‘wanted’ to be pregnant, figuring it would take time. I was pregnant within 2 months.
